April 2026 IPMA News and Updates
As we move further into spring, the Iowa Pest Management Association continues to stay active with member engagement, industry updates, and opportunities to connect across the state. Busy season is underway, and IPMA is here to support pest management professionals every step of the way.
Here is a look at what has been happening this month.
Mosquito Training Recap
Earlier this month, IPMA hosted a successful Mosquito Training event in the Des Moines area. This training brought together pest management professionals from across Iowa for a full day of education and hands-on learning.
A big thank you to everyone who attended and made the event a success.
We also want to extend a special thank you to:
- Dr. Stan Cope for delivering an outstanding and informative presentation
- Robert Hughes for organizing and planning the event
- RE/MAX Concepts for hosting the training
This event highlighted the importance of continued education in our industry and provided valuable tools that attendees can take back to their teams this season.
Strengthening the IPMA Community
One of the biggest focuses this month has been building a stronger connection within the pest management community across Iowa.
Members were encouraged to:
- Share photos from the field
- Highlight their teams and daily work
- Engage with other professionals across the state
These posts help showcase the hard work happening every day in the field while creating a space where members can learn from one another.
As a reminder, IPMA is always available as a resource. Whether you need help with pest identification, treatment strategies, or general industry questions, the association can help connect you with someone who has the answers.
Technician Tip Tuesday
With busy season ramping up, IPMA asked members to share their best advice for new technicians heading into the field.
From time management and customer communication to proper application techniques, these shared tips help strengthen the next generation of pest management professionals.
If you have advice to share, be sure to join the conversation on our social media pages.
Industry Engagement and Member Input
IPMA also reached out to members this month for input on important topics, including:
- Speaker recommendations for the annual conference
- Board member involvement and leadership opportunities
- General engagement through fun and interactive posts
Member feedback plays a critical role in shaping the direction of the association and ensuring events and training opportunities meet the needs of the industry.
IPMA Benefit Golf Scramble Reminder
The IPMA Benefit Golf Scramble is quickly approaching, and registration is still open.
