May 2026 IPMA News and Updates

The Iowa Pest Management Association has stayed busy over the last month with member engagement, industry discussions, scholarship reminders, and preparations for upcoming events. As busy season continues through Iowa, IPMA continues working to support pest management professionals throughout the state.

Here is a look back at what has been happening recently across the association.

Celebrating Earth Day

In April, IPMA recognized Earth Day and highlighted the important role pest management professionals play in protecting public health, homes, businesses, and the environment.

Professional pest management is about much more than eliminating pests. Through integrated pest management practices, proper product selection, and responsible applications, our industry helps create safer and healthier environments every day.

Scholarship Opportunities

IPMA continued promoting the IPMA Scholarship Program throughout the month to encourage applicants connected to member companies to apply before the May 31 deadline.

The scholarship program helps support students pursuing:

  • Higher education
  • Technical training
  • Industry-related career development

Investing in education helps strengthen the future of the pest management industry, and we are proud to support the next generation of professionals.

Seeking Future Board Members

One of the major focuses over the last month has been encouraging members to consider becoming more involved with the Iowa Pest Management Association.

IPMA shared multiple reminders about opportunities to serve on the board and help shape the future of the association.

Board involvement helps:

  • Support the pest management industry in Iowa
  • Guide training and educational opportunities
  • Strengthen networking and collaboration among members
  • Help grow the association for future generations

We appreciate everyone who continues volunteering their time and expertise to help move IPMA forward.

IPMA Benefit Golf Scramble

Preparations have continued for the upcoming IPMA Benefit Golf Scramble, which will take place on:

Date: May 27, 2026

Start Time: 10:00 AM Shotgun Start

Location: Toad Valley Golf Course

This annual event brings together pest management professionals from across Iowa for a day of networking, community, and fun while supporting the IPMA Scholarship Fund.

Throughout the month, IPMA shared reminders encouraging members to register and participate in the outing.

We also want to recognize and thank the sponsors helping support this year’s event, including companies across the pest management industry that continue investing in IPMA and its members.

Celebrating Mother’s Day

IPMA also took time this month to celebrate Mother’s Day and recognize all the incredible mothers throughout our industry and communities.

Whether balancing business ownership, office management, field responsibilities, or family life, mothers play an important role both inside and outside the pest management industry.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day celebration.

Truck Thursday and Member Engagement

Community engagement continues to grow through recurring social media posts like Truck Thursday, where members were encouraged to share photos of their pest control vehicles and teams in the field.

Posts like these help:

  • Showcase companies across Iowa
  • Build connections between members
  • Highlight the hard work happening during busy season
  • Create stronger engagement within the industry

IPMA has continued focusing on creating a stronger and more connected pest management community throughout the state.

Looking Ahead

As busy season continues, IPMA remains committed to:

  • Supporting members across Iowa
  • Providing educational opportunities
  • Encouraging collaboration and networking
  • Promoting professionalism within the industry

We know this time of year can be demanding, but it is also one of the most rewarding seasons in pest management. Thank you to everyone working hard to serve customers and strengthen our industry every day.
